A WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) is any object powered by an electric or electromagnetic current (supplied by batteries, outlets or batteries). Each year, 50 million tonnes of WEEE, toxic to human health, are generated worldwide, and only 20% of this waste is properly collected and recycled.
Glice Burundi has accomplished a lot since its creation.
Our Happy Partners Tell About Us
I called on the services of GLICE for the collection of electronic waste because I found their initiative very interesting; especially here in Burundi so as not to throw away devices which most likely would not be properly recycled. The waste collected was a TV, old GPS devices and microphones. The collection was quick and I am very satisfied.
We called on GLICE Burundi to collect our electronic waste and reduce the negative impact it can have on our environment. ROBBIALAC is a company that respects the environment in which it operates, which is why we called on the services of GLICE, an approved infrastructure capable of better managing our electronic waste.
We have partnered with the GLICE Association to allow Saint Esprit high school students to have access to new technologies. With their program to reduce the digital divide especially among the youngest, the equipment received from GLICE is of good quality and will allow our students to become educated citizens capable of making an impact.
Responsible disposal of electronic waste is of paramount importance. I appreciate the work of GLICE who made it is for us to do the same.
Thanks to the donation of computer equipment from GLICE Burundi to our school, we were able to develop active learning and generalize computer education from primary school. We train and prepare our students for jobs of the future, GLICE is one of our key partners in order to achieve our goals.
We have worked for a long time with GLICE Burundi to improve the access of our young people to new technologies. We took part in their robotics project with 15 of our students and the results are very satisfactory.
Our university has collaborated with GLICE, in order to compensate for the lack of computer equipments for our students. This partnership has thus enabled more than 1000 students to learn using new technologies. We encourage their activities, especially those aimed at reducing the digital divide among young people.

During this training, I gained several experiences. In particular, I learned that with solar energy, I can help my family and my community to have electricity, especially since in Burundi, the production of energy is not enough. This training strengthens my ability to be able to get into solar business and contribute to the sustainable development of my country.
